Do classic progressive rock bands belong in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?

To this day, classic progressive rock bands like Yes, Genesis, Emerson Lake & Palmer, King Crimson, Jethro Tull, and Rush have not been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Seems as though the people who are on the committee who vote who gets inducted have little if any liking for prog rock or as just biased against it, thinking that prog strayed too far away from the original blues base of rock music to the point where it became too bloated, pretentious, and just plain awful (to anyone who was a punk fan, for sure). I think it's time to get past that view, and honor each of those bands I mentioned and have them inducted so they can be considered as important and worthy to rock and roll's history for their contributions as were the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and Elvis Presley. I once said to someone who despised prog rock, who was a big punk fan, "if it weren't for the presumed excess of albums like 'Tales from Topographic Oceans' and 'The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway', there wouldn't be a sea change to get away from all that prog 'bloated' stuff and have rockers go back to the basics (and then have the Ramones and the Clash) -- at least once he saw it in that light, he realized that prog certainly had a place in rock history, if not his heart or music collection! Cast your vote . . .
